Grand Canyon
9/16/1996
The Grand Canyon is big. I mean, really big. It's difficult to convey
that in a picture. This one was taken from Mather's Point. The tiny
puddle at the bottom is the Colorado River. |

Monument Valley
9/17/1996
This may look like a Western set because of all the movies John
Ford filmed here, but this is really what the scenery looks like:
breathtaking. |

Monument Valley

This rock formation is called the Rain God mesa. This is just before
sundown and clouds are gathering above it. A few minutes later,
rain falls... Coincidence? |

Baker Beach
6/19/1997
Baker Beach is one of those places you probably have seen on a postcard
of San Fransisco. The view of the Golden Gate bridge explains it. |

Golden Gate Bridge

To take this picture I patiently waited for the sun to set and started
shooting with different settings and filters, hoping to get at least
one good picture. |

Bodie
6/1995
Bodie, north of Lake Tahoe, California, is as authentic a ghost
town as you can find. Because it is out of the main travel routes,
when the silver mine dried up, the inhabitants abandoned the town. |

Bodie

The inhabitants of Bodie left behind them everything they couldn't
carry, like this gas pump. The dry climate preserved the artifacts. |

Mill of the Fujiya Hotel
7/1997
The Fujiya Hotel, near the Hakone Lake, Japan, is an early 20th
century interpretation of a western-style hotel. Despite its unusual
architecture for the time, it preserved a very traditional and peaceful
garden in the back. |

The Hakone Shrine
7/1997
The Hakone Shrine is a Shinto holy place.
Pilgrims come here to write prayers on wooden tablets that they
hang inside ths shrine. When I visited, someone had written on
a tablet "I wish Apple will get better". The Shinto
gods were listening..
